The roommate waited while we got all dolled up (me in my awesome new hot pink $10 strapless dress) and hit TGI Fridays on Chapel Street. That was tres cool - a restaurant called 'thank goodness it's friday'? Love. It. The giant burgers were only shadowed by the enormous cocktails in mini-fish-bowl glasses that accompanied them. Mine was an Ultimate June Bug, Loz had Ultimate Magheritta and the Roommate had Ultimate Mud Slide, full of choc. Mucho yumminess. Dinner took a long time, so it was after eleven by the time we made it to the Crown plaza for an adventure in a Casino.
We went to one of the four(!) clubs inside the casino after paying $20 to get in (ouch) and being pulled to the head of the longish line by the bouncer 'cos we were so pretty (woo!). Inside was pretty cool... they had fancy pants shots, good music, a few cute guys, a token 'funny-guy' with hilarious pink and feathered sunnies on and plenty of odd, sleazy men. We danced awhile, basking in the glow of being the centre of attention of the sleezy dudes, smiling at the old people and gradually working up the courage to manouvre closer to the cuties... but then Loz was feeling tired, so we had to bail. Damn! I was having fun!! We had to skip the pokies and the shiny light, getting home just as the huge party in our downstairs bar was getting good, but Loz was wiped so i farewelled the roommate and we went to bed around half one. Still, seeing Melbourne at night was pretty cool! It was all bright lights, shiny things, loud music and fun. When we come back, i'm definately hitting the town again!
When we woke up the next day, we had that 'it's almost the end of the holiday' vibe...
