Last night, i attended my second engagement party in as many weeks (further proving that the world is coupling up, but i seem to have missed the boat). However, this one was a little different; it was medieval themed. Sound peculiar? Well, you'd be right. It definately wasn't your regular engagement party.
We were meant to dress up, but i wasn't sure how many of the others would. So, my fear of embarassment won out over my desire to dress up pretty in a medieval costume. I could totally have rocked a medieval dress. Anyhoo, when i arrived, i was amazed to see so many people indredibly dressed up. Kings, Queens, priests, Robin Hoods, Merlins and even a Jedi Knight - it was so cool! I played with the babies and then a bunch of the guests put on a show; the Knights of Eucathla (or something) had sword fighs between one another. The big guy with the hat and the sword was my favourite, while the SouthAfrican went for the dude in the chain mail with the spear. Then the other guests joined in - Dr.B and Mr.Music faced off in a classic duel where they were later compared to birds of prey and the SouthAfrican's scared face whilst he waved his sword in front of him was classic. It was hilarious!
Overall, the night that i'd expected to be awkward and scary wasn't so bad. Enough people that i knew were there, and my favourite darling baby, and the sword-fighting was cool! So, i stayed a few hours before zooming home to bed... still slightly sick and super sleepy!
