It's been a long week of ups and downs. I'm exhausted (and sick again), which doesn't help.
Monday started off well - i spent the day with my uni friend, El, and we talked movies in my super awesome comfy chairs. The chairs alone were enough to make my day, but El also gave me a copy of Camp Rock. We had discovered that we had nearly identical collections of crappy teen movies (think Hilary Duff, Amanda Byrnes, Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles...) and she thought that this movie would be a great addition. She was right. The Jonas Brothers - and an annoying girl with a mouth that was too big - rocked out in an hour and a half of typical teen drama. Perfect.
That night, i went to Mr.Music's (wow - huge, scarily clean house; i was terrified that i'd spill the spaghetti he cooked for tea) to watch The Godfather 2, which was, in essence, incredibly similar to the first in the trilogy. A plethora of death, guns and violence, crammed into the second hald of the three and half hour movie. I am now completely over my penchance for Al Pacino, seeing as he killed his brother (who i took quite a shine to), and hit his wife (who, granted, did some stupid things, but didn't deserve to be hit). But, it was a good movie, and there's only one more to go!!
Tuesday was boring and full of uni...
Wednesday was fun, because i bought a Pandora bracelet, so i'm pretty stoked about that (even ig it took a large chunk out of my bank account). We had Kids Club in the afternoon, which the kids enjoyed. And, i straightened my hair - which caused a stir, because i look so different. ShirtlessBuddy said i looked really nice, which i appreciated... yes, i'm pathetic because i appreciate compliments from younguns...
I suffered through work and uni today and yesterday. There's too much to do at work (so, naturally, i procrastinate too much) and uni was a waste of time because the lectures were boring and the drive there and back was long.
Tonight, we went to see Batman - and by 'we', i mean English, LittleM and ShirtlessBuddy's little bro. Random bunch. The movie was awesome though. I flinched everytime there was an explosion or a punch thrown, and i cried when i thought that Two-Face was going to kill the little boy, but it was a very well made movie. Points of contention: I can't decide whether i like Maggie Gyllenhaal or Katie Holmes better as Rachel; i didn't like Batman's 'Batman voice', because it sounded stupid; and the ending upset me, because i hate seeing the good guy being disparaged. Overall, however, it was excellent. And Heath Ledger did a great job - as far as 'last movies' go, it was a good one. If you haven't already seen it (and i assume you have, seeing as i'm apparently one of the last people in the country to see it), then do.
However, by the time the night ended i was a little off-colour. My throat and ears were sore, i'd fought with LittleM over a stupid misconception that he wouldn't let up about, and something i did had sparked memories about things i wish that i could forget. Add those things together, throw in a few other bits and pieces, and you have me dropping the boys home and then hooning out of the street and back home at 70kmph with tears streaming down my face. If English's mother saw how fast i peeled out of his street, there's no way she'll ever let him drive with me again...
Like i said, it's been a week of ups and downs. I can't wait for the next 48 hours to be over, so that next week can start. A fresh start will be much appreciated.
