No family deaths to report as of yet. We did end up driving to the rainforrest cable cars on wednesday arvo, and undertook the 45min trip over the mountains. Dad was freaked out by the tiniest move (his fear of heights wasn't helped by being in a rocking little car) but we all survived. The rainforrest was gorgeous and the little village, Kuranda, was sweet. Touristy, but sweet. We took the car back down again, traversed the boardwalks and headed home... but Dad got lost, refused to ask for directions and ended up taking two hours to drive the fortyfive mins home!!
Yesterday we were up at a quarter to seven and drove to the Daintree River. The following eight hours - yes, EIGHT hours - were spent on a fishing boat with my dad, my brother and Dave Paterson, the tour guy. While it was fun to fish (i caught two mangrove jacks) and watch the river, and we got to see four huge crocs (the one called Fat Albert was, obviously, quite the monster)... eight hours was a little too long, and it was a little too cold. But, dad enjoyed it and that was the main thing. We didn't get home until six and we were all exhausted and covered in sand fly bites!!
Today, we've done very little. I bought new bathers and checked my uni results - woo, i passed three subjects, got a credit and a distinction - and am sooooo pleased that i didn't fail!! We've got one more day before we leave, and i'm ready to come home. I don't get home until sunday night, so i'll miss church again (i'm in withdrawl!) but next week i'll be able to reaquaint myself with adelaide. Can't wait!
