It's been a long weekend. Finally, i got a true uni experience - pub crawl! Friday night, we 'lei-d' down the law... Despite my somewhat ugly pub crawl tee, i had a good time. I had a pretty lei and bonded with some of the people from our course; i have new friends! Alcohol and silly clothing really makes for some fantastic bonding. Ayles came with me (minus a tee-shirt). We met MrMusic's friend, who was hilarious. Some of the girls came for an hour or so and the boys met up with us eventually. Drinks were cheap, laughs were many. It got to the point where i was pretty wiped (really, i was exhausted, i could barely keep my eyes open) so one of my guy friends was alternately dragging me to dance, sticking his fingers in my mouth when i yawned, sheilding my eyes from couples that i didn't want to see and laughingly let me try his cigars. Eventually, it was time for a taxi home, and i was asleep before my head hit the pillow.
I'd called in sick for work the next day (truly, i wasn't feeling well), so spent much of the day avoiding homework, some of it actually doing homework and going off to work in the evening. We took the kids bowling. Sans bumpers, i actually managed to do ok. A few spares, a strike... and few turns where i didn't even knock a single pin down. I came third (of four) once, and tied for second the next time. I bonded with some of the kids, which was fun, and survived driving them to marion and back - which is always a chore, because people LOVE to criticise my driving. But it was fun, and i didn't do anything embarassing, like fall over or accidentally let go of the ball so that it rolls backwards... yes, i have done that before...
Afterwards, the girls came round. All started well, i was in a good mood (and i'm super fun when i'm in a good mood!) so we were all in hysterics. We learnt that mouthing 'olive juice' looks the same as when you mouth 'i love you' - so now we all go around shouting 'olive juice!'. But somewhere along the line, my mood cracked and i retreated into one of my holes. It could've come from learning things that i didn't want to know, or the many 'awkward turtles' that we ran into (wondering what an awkward turtle is? It's when there's an awkward silence; you make a turtle hand gesture, because of the way that turtles are so awkward on land), or maybe just because my good moods never last long at the moment. I got a call from Hodge, who drunkenly hiccoughed out an inquiry as to what i was doing and told me all about the party he was at. After i talked him out of showing up on my doorstep at two in the morning, the girls left.
Unbelievably, this morning my phone decided that it would change itself into daylight saving time. So, at 9am, when my boss rang and asked if i was coming in, i told her that i'd be there in an hour - thinking that it was only 8am! Somehow, i managed to make it there in 15mins and only missed a teeny bit of my first class, which someone was covering for. Stressful! Still not in the best of moods, getting hugs and cuddles from the littlies (little Shayna and Liam were adorable this morning!) helped.
Now, it's back to the homework, then Kids Club planning, then church, then more homework... such good fun. I miss sleeping!
