Deja Vu

I've been thinking lately that when i grow up i'd like to start my own magazine and have it end up being as mainstream as Madison or Marie Claire. Full of hard hitting stories, editorials, amazing photography health, fashion, beauty, love, life, celebrity... Well, mainly i care more about the hard hitting stories, editorials and amazing photography. But i can hire people to do all the dull stuff.

Because i've found this new career path, i've justified buying some more magazines lately. After all, i've got to check out my future competition!! The thing is, i've noticed some scary similarities between them. No, it's not just that they all march skinny little people dressed in indigo or purple past my jealous eyes. It's that they all cover the same stories!!

Every magazine in the past month has had an article about how people have turned to brothels to earn money in the hard financial times. Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Madison... the articles all focus on a different brothel - excuse me, high class escort services, were interesting. But do they all of the magazines really need to have the same content?

All the magazines have articles on all the different typs of jeans that there are on the market (boring), how the coolest new boots are toe-less (stupid!) and how the coolest new way to wear your hair is to scrape it back so tightly that you look like you're about to pull off your skull...

My magazine will be so much cooler than that. Original! New! Fresh! I won't report trends, i'll start them. And i won't charge $8.50 for people to read about them, either.

My magazine is going to totally rock!!
