the last few days...

FRIDAY
I was given the task of making christmas props, being the most artistic of a non-artistic bunch. I made donkey ears that looked like those of a rabbit, and a ridiculous camel. The sheep were good though. I also spent part of the afternoon in a pirate hat. Which generally makes things fun. I raced from a Youth meeting to a babysitting job that was forever away (the drive seemingly longer as i was stuck behind a bus goinf 5kmph for ten minutes, and behind a freight train AND a regular one...) - i eventually made it to Coromandel Valley. The kids were great. The little girl loves me, and the little boy, who i feared was a Mamma's boy and would cry, greeted me wtih an 'i love you'... it was adorable. We watched A Shrek Christmas, which was bizzare, and Barbie: Mariposa's adventure or some such. Weird. The kids were easy to put to bed. $50, easy money. Home by 11.30! Perfect.

SATURDAY
Saturday was awesome, because of this one thing - NOTHING bad happened. Nothing! Nothing went wrong, nothing upset me. I liked it! A day without a rollercoaster of emotion. Work was fine - tiring, but fine. The kids were good, and a bunch of them earnt new certificates, which always makes me proud. My last class, the one with three screamers last week, had none (and only two of them refused to let go of me), plus i had a helper, so it was easy! I babysat again in the evening - and the kids were amazing. We played with the bunny ('Little Daisy') and the two littlest blonde darlings went to sleep. The eldest blonde girl watched the non-scary parts of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe while her big brother volunteered to make us all hot chocolates. Then she went to bed, but not before saying 'i love you' to her brother, hearing it in return (amazing!), getting me to pray for her and telling me she loved me too. At 10pm, i said to the eldest 'time to start thinking about bed-time' - and he went straight away! Not even a pause! Stating that he liked going to bed, because he liked to be energetic in the morning. They are the most amazing group of children, so nice and polite and happy... i can't believe it. More easy money.

SUNDAY
I was at church by 10am to play the angel in the drama, which i did without too much embarassment. Though i did drop the microphone afterwards... oops. Then i made crafty things with the kids in sunday school. Once the morning congregation had cleared out, the SouthAfrican and i set up for the Volunteers lunch that we were giving. BBQ was ready by 2pm, yummy. MarriedMan kept me entertained through lunch... though he does think that i'd make an excellent 'embarassing story' for his friend TinyTim's 21st, and pointed out the ridiculous patterns in my life (annabel meets boy, annabel likes boy, annabel has chance with boy, boy ends up with annabel's friends); apparently it's hilarious. But we had a laugh, he's always good for a laugh... i wish we saw him more often. Evening service came and went, after a loooong music practice, an embarassing speech about being the intern from me, and an uncomfortable hour of sitting as far away from the person next to me as possible. It was followed by cafe - ShirtlessBuddy kept me smiling, the SouthAfrican told a ridiculous riddle (we had the right answer, but he'd given the wrong riddle, so it led to lots of arguing - fun though!), i confronted someone because i thought they were angry at me - and then i got angry because their reason for anger was so stupid... so, typically, i stormed out. ShirtlessBuddy saw that i was upset, he did a good job in the cheering section.

I went to Bri's for awhile to see the girls and catch the end of the Sex and the City Movie - then Bri and i filled each other in on all the gossip. Turns out the person i was fighting with decided that i had a point, that i'd done nothing intentionally wrong and that he'd been a penis. Friends again, i was happy, so danced around Bri's kitchen before i went home to bed. Looooong day, didn't get home until 12.30am!

MONDAY
I was called into work to show people how to use the EFTPOS machine at 10am and ended up hanging there for 2hrs either making a nuisance of myself or keeping people company. Then, at 3.50pm i got a call from El asking me to meet her at 4pm to see Twlight. It's equally awesome the second time around, and Robert Patterson was infinately hotter. So all is well in my TV-land hot boy quota for today. I spend some of the afternoon waiting for a friend to turn up, but he never did, being of the hopeless male variety. And now i am bored.

So, after that incredibly long, uninteresting, random and catch-up style post, i'll go back to watching Fringe with Joshua Jackson. Yum.
