Virtute et Veritate

Today my school's Old Scholars choir, of which i was a part, performed three absolutely ridiculous songs at the celebratory Garden Party to mark 90 years of the Old Scholars Association. It was actually quite good fun! White garden chairs and tables everywhere, flowers on the table, the most DELICIOUS cupcakes known to man (of which all five of us girls had two of, because the waiter recognised our need for sugar), and a cute waiter to boot, we all had a good time. I hadn't seen the girls in ages, so it was great to have a gossip over our punch with strawberries. Our singing only took five minutes, so we had plenty of time to kill amid the boring speeches that are to be expected at Walford-ian events like this.

It was good to be back 'home', in the place where i spent the better part of eight years. It's changed lots since we were there (and we're jealous of the changes that we didn't get to enjoy!). It was like a taste of the old comfort that we used to be immersed in. It's sad to think that the place is changing and we're not even involved in it anymore... but we're singing again at the Cathedral Christmas Concert. I'm glad i'm involved in the old scholars stuff - it's a nice link to such a big chunk of our past.
