Have you ever heard of The Secret? It was a huge phenomenon not long ago. It centred around the idea that putting positive thoughts out into the universe would ultimately bring good things to you, and vice versa. It became the latest craze. Granted, i never saw it, but the basic principle is easy enough to grasp.
Tomorrow, the boys' band, Work in Progress, was meant to play at the Flinders Uni Tavern. I promised to go. I then discovered that i had a lecture at the same time. I've since spent the day in a quandry, trying to decide whether or not to skip my lecture. Just now, i got a message saying that the gig was cancelled.
Following the logic of The Secret, i'm wondering if my wishing that there was no confliction in my schedule tomorrow sent vibes into the universe that served to get their gig cancelled...
Now, i'm not conceited enough to think that i have that big an influence on the world. But it's still an interesting thought...
