Peculiar

I was watching Dawson's Creek (whilst doing my Criminal Law assignment, so i'm being reasonably productive on my Friday night at home) and gleamed another few pearls of wisdom. This show is full of them!!

The dumb girls will put out if you tell them they're smart, smart girls will put out if they're beautiful.

It sounds crass, but i think it's true, at least to some extent. So many people i know are incredibly insecure, they want people to assuade their fears and will reward people who do. People feel so insecure about what they do have, and are desparately wanting something else. We'll 'reward' men with something that we know they want if they give us what we want. However, what we want is often emotional, whereas what they want is so often physical. Nobody is ever happy with what they've got... i suppose this pattern that people have picked up won't change until society does, and people can be happy with what they've got.

I know that saying that is completely hypocritical - if anyone needs to learn that lesson, it'd be me. However, i guess that if i can advocate it to someone else, if i can help one person see that this isn't the right way to do things, then maybe they'll teach someone else and a new way of thinking will eventually spread throughtout society...
