Smiley Annie

I was in a legitimately good mood for most of today. It was fantastic! I was reasonably prepared for my history and philosophy tute, which i always really enjoy - i even offered an opinion or two! Then i had a break, in which i bought five tickets for our law ball this weekend and spent an hour bonding with some new friends and talking about hideous formal dresses that we've seen in our time. It was like hanging out with real friends! I borrowed a book from my new mate, and we giggled out way through our criminal lecture (we were pondering the phrase 'someone just walked over my grave' - does it still apply if you've been cremated and had your ashes scattered?).

After the lecture i headed down to the tav to spend the arvo with the SouthAfrican. Mr.Music and Ayles came for lunch and we mucked around for awhile, then it was just me and the SouthAfrican. We settled into our usual routine; attempting the crosswords (they were a little too hard this week!), chatting about our weeks and cheering as i completed the sudoku! Woo!!

In his break, we went and ate chocolate covered raspberries (our latest tradition, we take turns buying) and sat outside. I was having a small fit about something, so the SouthAfrican gave me a pen to smash up and throw onto the ground to release my anger. It was fun, i smashed it to bits! And felt soooo much better afterwards! We went back downstairs and hung out for another few hours; Justin the drunk is my new buddy. He's decided that i should come to the Tav more often, even when the SouthAfrican isn't working there, because my effervescent spirit is a pleasure. I love that guy! The SouthAfrican preffered to compare me to Barocca - because i'm like the annoying bubbles that get up your nose, but that i do lots of good things too, so i'm worth a little bit of annoyance.

I was good, i didn't stay until close. I left with a smile on my face. It's been a long time since i've had a truly happy day, so today won't be forgotten anytime soon. I'm so glad i'm making new uni friends! Life is sweet today.
