I only had an hour of uni today, but i drove up anyway, because i always meet the girls afterwards for lunch. After my criminal lecture (which i actually understood), i went down to meet the girls... and they didn't show. So, i spent the next three hours in the Uni pub with the SouthAfrican, who was working.
Despite initially being one of those people that sits at the bar (albeit a sandwich, rather than a beer, in my hand) looking pathetic, i had a good time. Although i was just sitting there, talking to the SouthAfrican between customers, it was quite funny. At one point, a few drunk guys up the back pulled out a guitar and were hollering out the pick-up-line song, which was hilarious, seeing as the guy could barely stand, let alone sing. Some randoms invited me to play darts, another started a philosophical discussion about the believablity of a higher power. The SouthAfrican tried to pass me off as his legitimate sister, rather than his surrogate one.
Finally, the SouthAfrican had a break, so we went and bought chocolate covered almonds to cheer ourselves up. We ate the whole bag, he headed back to work and i navigated the walk back to my car, made much more difficult by the fact that i was wearing very slippery ugg boots.
On my way home, after nearly crashing my car as it skidded over the railway tracks and fishtailed across the lanes, i stopped in at Noodles, and watched 30 Days of Night with her and Skat. Ok, so it was a vampire movie set in Alaska, and Josh Hartnett really isn't all that attractive, but it was still a good movie and we enjoyed scaring ourselves out of our own realities for awhile. Then it was home, upstairs, to comfort myself with tea and either 27 Dresses or PS; I Love You - i'm yet to decide which.
Another 9-5 day tomorrow! Not looking forward to that... Maybe i can bail on my last few hours... but that's hardly a good attitude to go into the day with!
