My old school has a annual tradition; the Rose Bowl debate. Basically, two year 12's face-off against two old scholars in an outlandish debate. The topic is usually something silly; that we should wear uniforms to uni, that boys make better friends than girls, that we should ban television... the old shcolars get to dress up, use props, play music... it's usually a riot.
When i was in year 12, i was debating vice-captain. They asked me to do the debate and i chickened out; i was far too shy, so i just watched. Last week, the foundation office called and they asked me to be one of the old scholars this year. We get to pick the topic and everything. I know that i'm much more confident, but i still don't know if i've got the kind of confidence it takes to have 700 teenage girls in fits of laughter. I don't know if i can do it. I really want to; it looks like such fun, the old scholars always look so together and grown-up and i want to be like them... i just don't know if i can!
I have to hurry up and decide, i need to let the office know... i'm thrilled to be asked (yes, it's nice to be recognised once in awhile) but i just don't know! Gah, i hate being so indecisive!!
