Heads Or Tails

This week's theme is 'green'. The first thing that came to mind was simple; there's something about the smell of fresh green grass after it's rained that i absolutely love. I'm a girl whose memories can easily be sparked by smells. For example, i can walk through town and suddenly smell something that sparks off memories of being in china. It's very random. I just seem to rememebr smells of things.

When i was little, our house was green. Well, not all of it. But all of the detailing, the roof, the fence... i loved it. It was one of four houses in a row, all of which were over 100 years old, and they were all different colours. It was lots of fun growing up there. I was friends with my next door neighbours, we lived in each others pockets for years. We were the kind of friends that you read about in Enid Blyton books - we'd sell lemonade, or seeds, and write little books. We had secret clubs and a clubhouse. We spent hours hooking up ropes and pulley system to pass notes over our fence. They were good times.

When i was little, my whole room was light green. I had purple cats everywhere. Thinking back, it was probably quite bizzare, but i think it looked ok. When i was older, i loved aqua and lime green. So one wall of my room is an incredibly bright green and so is the pillow in my window seat. It's fun having a bright room. However, it's meant that people buy me lots of blue and green things. Now that i'm thinking of changing my room colours, it means i'll have to get all new stuff!!

Green is supposed to be relaxing. I don't know if lime green falls into that category. But maybe my room is a nice relaxing place. Still, i like it!

Green is my favorite color. I love the forest green and as you the lime green...everything green. {Did I mention the color of money? hehehehehe}

If you haven't dropped by to see my green, be prepared to sing along with Kermit the Frog!!! Hope to see you there.

What a great post! It seems so long since I've seen grass, let alone smelled it! Winter has just been too long but your post makes me long for it! I love the part about the pulley system! Priceless!!

The images you painted here of your childhood made me smile. :)

The green walls reminded me of when I painted my daughter's room once. I'm not sure what shade of green paint I bought but glowing or fluorescent should have been in the name, because her room was BRIGHT! Even with her door closed the green just kind of radiated from under the door. :)

If you like it, it's a good thing. I have lots of green in my house - but it's mostly stuff I can't change out - like cabinet tops and carpet. I keep loving it...
