So Long, Farewell

You Make Me Smile

Yes ladies and gentlemen, you read it correctly. Me, little miss cranky-pants (or 'krank-sky', as i am known in some circles... i chose to take that as a term of endearment), actually SMILED! Honest-to-goodness, tooth bearing grin - because i'm a grinner, not a smiler. I'm so happy that i smiled, that i'm actually smiling more! Hurrah! It's a lovely cycle. Finally, the bloggie can have some smiles and love.

Why am i happy? Well, it begins with a bittersweet thing - the SouthAfrican (and his brother) are off to europe tomorrow. They shall be traversing the sunny shores of spain, barcelona, paris, england, the french riviera - ok, so maybe not very sunny... but still. They'll be gone for an entire month, which i realise, in the scheme of things, isn't too long. They're going to have a fantastic time, partying it up in style as i know all too well that they can do. Plus, they're meeting Mr.Music over there and that will be a reunion that will go down in the history books; the magical reunion of the three amigos. Haha, these boys are practically wetting themselves with excitement. Well, the boys leave tomorrow. And i'll miss the SouthAfrican SO much! Not only will Angel and i have nobody to entertain us on our coffee breaks (or give us free tea...), but my mother will have nobody to make sandwiches for on a monday morning and i'll be without my knight in shining armour for an entire month! My knight, you may ask? Yes, knight - he protects me from all the evil men in the world. Or at least tries to! Anyway, point of the story? I'll miss him immensley, even though he won't be gone all that long.

But that doens't explain why i smiled (in fact, that story would lend itself better to tears). The smiles came just a minute ago. I was talking to the SouthAfrican on msn about life, love and the luxuries of life. Along with him sending me an amazing song (which i shall share with you; go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2fWXIjniRs and watch it. Good stuff), he did his usual job of trying to convince me that the world is not a terrible place. First, that's lovely, as he cares about me. But the smile came with the 'hun, i'll miss you heaps'. That's it. Five simple words. Now i feel loved, which is really all that i need in life.

I'll miss him a million times over, but i know he's going to have an amazing time. And i know he loves me and isn't going to forget about me in his travels of the world :P He'll be home again soon. Miss you already hun, won't be the same here until you come home.

Annie

PS. I'm so easy to please sometimes. The SouthAfrican saying he'll miss me will have me smiling for the rest of the night. And my favourite compliment of all time can have me smiling for extended periods of time. Want to hear it? This really does prove that all guys are not total idiots, all the time. Despite how things may seem.
"...feels like my whole face smiles when i look at you and smile and my eyes light up... might just be different on the inside, i dont know... i can't help smiling at you sometimes though... my body does it without my brains permission... well gorgeous girl, my mouth seems to get really dry when i'm nervous so i'm gonna go enjoy a nice beer infront of the tv..."
You've got to love the beer part. Just proves that manly men can be sweet as well. So. That's my favourite compliment of all time. I just felt like sharing it. Aw, now i have a double smile on my face. Hurrah for happiness!
