'Fiddler On The Roof'

Reunion!

Thursday night saw the Walford/Saints musical hit the stage once more. This time, it was Fiddler On The Roof and a group of us ex-Walford girlies showed up on the final night, pink with barely contained excitement. Missing our own musical days very feverently, we reminisced all the way there and would hardly wait to see whether this group could put on a better performance that our own stellar rendition of West Side Story (although we all know that our performance of Paris was one hundred times better than any other play imaginable!).

When we arrived, we were psyched to see that almost the entire cast of our musical was there. Faces that we hadn't seen in years were everywhere. SexyLexy, DH, BB, FishFingers... everyone was there and we were totally thrilled to see all of our singing buddies who we'd missed so much.

Then there was the actual play. The lead was fantastic. The little, scrawny guy who we'd grown up with had evolved into a the strong, charismatic Jewish leader. His voice was amazing. Combined with the rest of the cast, who were albeit very young, were actually contained a number of strong voices. They did a fantastic job, with what was a fairly serious musical. We were very proud.

After the musical, there was the great debate - was Fiddler better than West Side? Walford girls are nothing if not competitive... we decided that we got a standard ovation and they didn't, so we win :P Either way, these guys were fantastic and we were all incredibly impressed. They'd done a fantastic job.

And it was great to see all the old guys again!

We went for coffee afterwards, to a cool little palce called Spats. We made friends with the waiter, who was very amused by all of the gossip that he overheard. Plus, he gave us some great life advice; apparently, if you don't like the partner of one of your friends, it's something that you should just deal with on your own - let them figure out their mistakes on their own. Good advice.

It was a good night out with the girls, we all had so much fun! I can't wait until the next musical!
