Winter '07
Who's started looking at the winter displays in stored and catalogues? My mother has. Everyday she brings catalogues in for me to look at, 'just for ideas'. So far, i've noticed one thing. The colours. Everything is dull and muted. It looks like someone grabbed a rainbow, mixed in a hefty amount of grey and decided it would be the palette for winter this year.
I'm talking aubergine, olive, mustard, peacock... all of those colours. Now, i've nothing against them in principle. However, they do lead to a rather dull wardrobe. I much prefer nice, bright colours so that the dreariness of winter seems a little less blah!
Georgie's mum came up with a good reason why the colours are as is. She thinks that the reason we have a whole lot of colours named after foods is because all of the supermodels that wear them can't eat anything for fear of losing their figures. They can't eat it, so they wear it :P I love this theory, it seems to fit so perfectly.
Anyway, be prepared for a very muted winter girls. It's aubergine from here on out.
