Many Faces Of Adelaide

Those Who I Meet On My Travels

Spurred on by meeting various people who amused me while on my wanderings last night, i'm going to post about some of the interesting people that i see round here.

#1 - mr. oh so gay - last night at Maccas we were served by the most stereotypical gay since Jack on Will & Grace. He actually called us 'darlings'. It was absolutely hilarious. Gotta love it.

#2 - the walking man - early in the morning, late at night, dawn, dusk, noon. This guy wanders the streets of unley (often without shoes). He looks pretty scary but i think he's ok.

#3 - the punk chick - the papership round the corner has a girl who looks pretty scary but, as i've discovered in my many trips into the shop, is actually really nice and funny. Never let the goth thing with the heavy make-up and eyebrow ring be decieving.

#4 - the running lady - similar to the walking man, the running lady can be spotted usually in the heat of the middle of the day, in a shirt and dress pants, running laps of the block. She too is pretty scary when she huffs and puffs past you. But i think she'd do less harm to us than she does to herself, running in the heat!

#5 - the creepy guy - at the 7-day-supermarket across the road there's a perverted man with looong brown hair and apparently only one set of clothes (or many sets of identical clothes). He stares at the girls leaving school and has come up to me on two occasions to 'talk'. Thank goodness Klong had a car and we managed to 'escape'. He's freaky as all hell and police warnings don't stop him emerging from the flats the second the bell rings to signal the end of the day! Creepy.

#6 - the bakery dude - the day of my first year ten exam i got given a five cent piece from the hot bakery dude (now the hot guy who worked in the bakery before it closed) - and it was GOLD! It became my lucky gold five cent piece and it's served me well! Lucky me.

So that's six people that help make unley unley. That's why i love it! But don't go wandering the streets late at night - i wouldn't say they're exactly safe! ah well, everywhere has its mix of the good and the bad. This is no exception!
