That's Right - Santa Is Coming!!!
Well, to some of us at least - i don't know about you, but that whole 'naughty/nice' list thing always worries me just the tinest bit. I mean, how nice is nice? Is one (ok, maybe one hundred) little (yea, i mean big) argument going to count against me? Hmmm... i wonder how long it takes Santa to decide on the final cut on his nice list. I'd better get cracking on those good deeds!
Anyhoo, should Santa fail us all, there are always others willing to do their share of presant-giving :P However, it works both ways - the bigger the family, the more pressies i have to buy! And i tell you, it SOUNDS easy but it's NOT! We've got the mother who never tells anyone what she wants but complains when she has to pick her own pressies - so she usually gets completely useless vases or something from me, which always seem like a good idea at the time! Dad is pretty simple; some good noughat keeps him happy (we share a birthday but not a taste for chewy treats). Little brother? Simple, cds keep him happy. Big brother? Not a problem - i think last christmas i got an incense burner with butterflies on it, the christmas before it was a 'lovely' statue of a dolphin, plus we're seventeen years in and i still get 'anabel' on cards... so he's easily pleased. Big sister? Always impossible - HOW do you get a stranger a pressie?!?!? But mama often helps out there.
So that's the immediate family done. But what about everyone else. Do you go pressies for extended family? Friends? And what exactly happens in those awful situations when someone gets you a gift and you've totally forgotten about them... be prepared to lie your pants off to avoid an awkward situation! The 'i forgot' line is always a good one.
Ok, so now for those hard-to-think-of presants. What to get the tricky people who a) you don't know all that well or b) have everything!
* Permanent Markers - for the doodler in us all
* Hankerchiefs - for the guy who can never find his... and really shouldn't for a few decades...
* Candycanes - simple, easy, cheap and yummy. Plus, it's always fun to suck them to a point!
* Santa Hats - for the festive being in us all
* Christmas Cards - get them now and save them until next year. Time saver!
* Friends dvds - ALWAYS fantastic fun :)
* Guitar Pick - a great start for any musician and they always seem to go missing!
* Bobby Pins & Hair Ties - again, always impossible to keep track of
* A Blog - great entertainment, gauranteed addiction and, best of all, totally free!!!
Wow, that was a good brainstorm - i think i've solved all the rest of my pressie problems! People, if you get something from this list, at least pretend to be surprised :P
