Uh... Boy's in Bubbles...

Bubble Boy - Brainy or Buggin'?

For some reason, i said i was going to blog about whether or not bubble-boys were better at maths than the all-rounders that we all love to hate. Now, goodness knows why on earth i decided to do that! I think my main point was that those scatter-brained scientists that you always read about or see on tv are freakily smart. My logic was that people in bubbles must also be heaps smart and maths is always the 'smart' subject, with that kind of thing... so i think that was my reasoning... yea, i know, completely random and full of holes, but meh :P

Anyway, i figured since there was nothing really more to say on that, i'd just tell you what the bubble-boy actually is, for those of you who also live in a somewhat bubble-like world and have never heard the expression before!

A bubble boy, for the most part, is an adorably fantastic kind of guy, with the small flaw that he seems to be oblivious to everything that is going on around him... he's not stupid, nope, but he can be a little slow to catch on. As for the subtleties of the female personality, things like flirting and occasionally sarcasm, as well as social norms and the like, they all go waaaaaay over his head; again, not in a bad way, more like in an endearing, 'isn't-he-hopeless-ph-but-we-love-him-anyway' kind of way. As an aside, the bubble-boy often has a 'lost puppy' look that beats that of any more aware guy, hands down.

Now, as always, there are variations. You can have your incredibly stupid bubble-boy, the type that just DOES NOT understand anything, as if his bubble is actually made of 3m thick concrete. Or, you can have your the bubble-chick; in this instance, it's not a case of being slow to catch on, so much as being more 'bubble-gum'-like - sweet, sticky and accompanied, generally, by a short skirt and blonde hair (these girls are often reffered to as 'plastics' or 'flakes'). You get the idea, they can be anything, anyone.

But the bubble-boy is the least offensive and most amusing, although they can be the most frustrating (and apparently they're fantastic at maths :P). So there you have it, the 411 on bubble-boys. They're good fun, see if you can find one for a friend! Lol, or you could be lucky enough to already have one, in which case, congrats, hang onto him, he'll be the amusement that'll get you through your mid-years!

Toodles!
Annie
