Starting The New Year

Thursday night Miha and i went to the Ed with another girl. It was a chilled night, a few drinks, random conversation. We made friends with one of the bouncers, who was writing two books (one a historical overview, another a fictional piece about the clubbing scene, which was why he got the job at the Ed!) - he was a hoot, asking our opinions on all sorts of things. Very bizzare. I called it quits pretty early, but all was well in the world.

The next night we had farewell drinks for George at the Maid. We got dressed up all pretty, arrived, did the small talk thing with the girls... and then i'd had enough. Sometimes, it's just so hard to be around people - making conversation seems like such a monstrous task and it's just not always do-able. Miha caught onto my mood (i felt so bad for dragging her down with me!) and we bailed pretty early. We got chocolate sundaes at Maccas, drove to Windy point to eat them and just chatted. I talk to much - when given the opportunity, i'll just talk and talk about things. It's rare that i have the opportunity to talk unfettered and comfortably and about the things that i don't really talk much about... i have issues. And i'm quite possibly bitter and cynical. I should just shut up. Poor people trying to get a work in edge wise. Still, it was good - and we started making travel plans, which is always cheery.

Two more quiet nights to ring in the new year. Nothing special, nothing horrible. So far, if the year continues in this vein, then i can live with that!
