Today, Tonight

Two bizzare things happened today, either side of my coffee date with Pious. The first occured as i walked to Cibo. I was toddling down the road when i saw a group of boys who looked about 12 skulking around a driveway. They headed out, walking past me on the other side of the road, and i kept my head down hoping that they wouldn't notice me. It wasn't to be. The idiots threw a water balloon at me - and missed. I threw them an evil eye, but kept walking, hoping they were out of ammo. Nope; the next one hit my legs. I turned around, as they pointed at each other and claimed 'it was him'. I hollered 'what are you? 10? what the hell are you doing?' and a few other things, before i told them that their next victim would probably take an attack much worse than me... i walked off, leaving the stupid kids giggling with glee. I was majorly unimpressed. Those stupid kids. I see why maybe they'd think it was funny... but why did they have to pick on little miss low self-esteem? My mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that they wouldn't've hit me if i'd been skinny/pretty. Stupid over-thinking brain of mine.

Coffee was good (turns out i didn't do worse than Pious in exams, which was nice), it was lovely to have a catch-up and goss on the general state of our affairs. Afterwards, i headed to a bookstore - when in need of comfort, i buy books (nothing like an alternate reality to escape into when you've been blighted by a bunch of pre-teen morons). I was in the store when i heard to boss give some terse instructions to an employee. The employee errupted; 'stop threatening me! did you hear him? he's threatening me!!' etc... he proceeded to tell other employees that he'd been threatened, generally throwing a fit. It was really bizzare!!

*** In other news...

I babysat my darling Bobby and his little brother tonight. Despite his Dr.B's apparent stress at leaving has bubbas with me, all went well. The littlest bubba slept straight through, while his brother and i watched TV, played with 'baby' the doll and had a few giggles. There were lots of stories when it came to bedtime, and a bed swap between the brothers. Followed by more stories, about 'loobey-doobey' the dog (thank goodness i have some imagination) and his adventures with cats, fairies, beaches and parents. I left Bobby to sleep, and came back awhile later to check on him... only to find him sitting on the floor, shredding a packet of tissues!! What a mess. He scrambled back into bed when he saw me, guilty as sin. Even though we shared a giggle over his mischief, he knew his grace period was up. After prayers and the 'goodnight' song, he finally went to sleep (of course, i fibbed a little about how late he was up when his parents got home!). I read magazines until the parents came home - they were relieved to see their darlings safe and well. While not the simplest sitting job under the sun, those boys are such darlings that i'd do it again in a heartbeat! I love them to pieces - and they totally know it. It was a good night.
And i've got work tomorrow, which will give me something to do, yay!!
