Heads Or Tails

I love New Year's. I don't need to have a big party, but i do like to do something, becuase ringing in the new year alone seems a little upsetting. I heard somewhere that the way you spend your NYE is the way that you will spend the rest of the year... so i'm going to be on my best behaviour tomorrow night. Only some good, old-fashioned fun and games with friends.

There are so many things to watch on NYE - apart from people kissing at midnight and falling over when they try to climb into a taxi. In the USA, apparently people watch some kind of ball dropping? I assume it's a tradition thing that we aussies just don't understand. Here in good 'ol Adelaide, we just watch some fireworks down at the beach, if we're lucky. We make our own fun here! They even cancelled the city fireworks, because it was a health hazzard or something!

Hopefully, tomorrow night i'll manage to behave in a manner that i feel befitting of a good way to spend the new year. This will be the third year running that i've tried to do this... third time is a charm!

Resolutions for this year?
1. Finally, i shall stop biting my nails once and for all
2. I shall have confidence in my abilities and try to maintain some semblance of a steady personality
3. I shall be fit and happy
4. I shall travel as much as i can
5. I shall actually keep on top of my study
6. I shall meet new people and make good new friends
7. I shall let go of the past
8. I shall be happy

I think these eight off the top of my head (there are a few others floating around inside my head, but i'll keep those on the inside) will definately keep me busy... Actually, i think these are more or less the same kind of resolutions that i've had for the last few years - i'm definately thinking that the third year will be a charm.

I never even thought of 'watching' the new year's ball drop in time's square in NYC! Wow...here you are in Australia and I in America and you thought of our tradition. I'm totally embarrassed. LOL

Yep, 3rd time is indeed a charm!!!!

Great post.

My HoT is posted. I have a 'watch' cat, sunrise, history and movies today.

Happy New Year Wishes to you and yours.

If I were to make resolutions, my list would be very similar to yours.

Good luck to us both.
