S.W.A.D

When i was in year six, people in Japan were killing whales and dolphins. So i started a petition (and technically a group: S.W.A.D - Save Whales and Dolphins) to save them. Actually, i think that only the whales were in danger, but i liked dolphins too, so i wanted just to make sure that they'd be ok. I had almost 300 signatures. I was so proud. I had big plans to sent it to Greenpeace. One weekend, i put it in my cupboard until school went back on monday. But i never took it out again. Once shelved, it was lost.

That's a metaphor for life. So many ideals, and dreams, and secrets that we put away. Temporarily, we think, but once shelved they never come back out again.

I wonder how many dolphins and whales i could have saved.
