Mission: Begins

It's been a busy few days; thursday morning was pretty fun, as there were two third birthdays at the kids playgroup. I got to play with the birthday boys (whom i adore) and fed them cake - which resulted in my being absolutely covered in crumbs and spit, but i didn't mind at all, because i love them so much! After a stressful afternoon of last minute kids club stuff, we had bible study. We're still looking at Revelations - this week was all about trumpets blowing destruction onto the world.

That night, it was time to celebrate the end of exams properly. Loz and i met up with a bunch of the girls at the Havey. Ten minutes after we'd walked in, we'd already seen a dozen people we knew. It was great catching up with everyone; Bubble, Irishman, Horseboy, George... and the drinks were really cheap. Finally, a distraction, however unhealthy, that is better than Friends dvds. Ater awhile, we caught a lift to Marble Bar and enjoyed a very short line. Once inside, it was super loud and all hope of conversation died. So, after meeting up with B (my lovely friend from uni), TinyTim, Hodge and the boys, we danced. And danced some more. Some very short boys followed me around for awhile, saying that i had 'beautiful eyes' and sending their friends over to ask me to dance with them. It was rather bizzare. Three hours later, we were done with the dancing and headed home. Apparently, moments after we left, someone was stabbed just outside the bar, so we were glad we'd left before then. It was half three before Ayles and i got home - we were out like lights within seconds.

The next morning, Ayles and i scored Macca's for lunch before Mum took me shopping in town. We only had an hour and a half but managed to be very successful at our last stop; i scored plenty of lovely new clothes, woo!! Plus, mum's been feeling bad for me, because i'm so strung out lately, that she paid for them. I raced into work afterwards, to run a meeting for kids club leaders and try and find a solution to a stupid mistake i'd made at work earlier. Stresssssssful.

After work, i dropped dad at the Adelaide club for some dinner he had. Seeing him disapear into the old building with a bunch of other men in penguin suits, i felt like i was catching a glimpse into the past... and then i went to a friend's 20th birthday dinner. Delicious food and catching up with the girls who i'd not seen in ages made for a really good few hours. Afterwards, i picked Loz up and we went to Elmo's 18th birthday. Despite being incredibly awkward at first, due to the fact that we knew only Elmo, his brothers and his mum, we ended up staying for over an hour and having a pretty good time. I talked to his mum for ages (i love her, she always says i'm beautiful) and then we talked to the only boys our age for awhile, and they seemed nice. They were throwing flour onto the fire - which was super cool, as it exploded everywhere. One boy nearly went up in flames... but it was still pretty cool. After that, i was exhausted, and fell into bed.

Work this morning was interesting. I argued with my boss when she came over to tell me off as usual. One of the kids kissed me on the cheek and said 'i like you, teacher'. A bunch of the parents congratulated me on doing a good job and told me that i was really gifted at what i did. That was a nice change from my boss' criticisms. This afternoon i've got a million things to do and i'm never going to get them all done (delivering post for church, buying yellow tee-shirts, organising kids club electives, finding a costume for the costume party 18th that i have tonight and completely forgot about it until just now and then going to youth group)... so, i should go and stress.

As for the mission? I've had a few nights out, but not much of the kind of success that would make the Librarian happy! Third night out is a charm.

Mission: begun. No obvious progress as of yet.
