Words From The Wise

I'm so tired i can hardly move, but i've got that lovely sense of satisfaction that comes from competing my horrific 9-5 wednesday. I survived all my classes, understood some of what i heard and survived my group meeting... just. I swear, my group is crazy. Apart from the lebanese woman who thrives for her wedding with the emerald green bridesmaid's dresses and the crazy fighting with her husband in lebanese, there's the mature age whose's hearing problems are so bad that he never has any idea what we've been talking about, there's the most annoying little man that i've met in a long while. Aside from truly believing that he knows more than anyone else in the room at any given moment, and wearing tee-shirts that are too small to cover the beer gut that he sports, despite spending a huge amount of time in the gym, this man is just nasty. Little comments that make it obvious that he thinks he's better than us, or a crazy amount of little idiosyncracies. For example, this is a man who asks your opinion by saying 'do you disagree?' It just sums him up. Most people would say 'do you agree?' - but not him. He goes straight to the negative. I'm tolerant of most people (i'll admit, the lebanese girl is actually a hoot and i feel bad for the guy who can't hear, he's old and it's not his fault), but this little man is arrogant, rude and condescending. He speaks in a posh tine, as if trying to cover up the fact that he's just an aussie bloke who doesn't know any better than the rest of us.

I know that the point of these group projects is to learn to get along with everyone. I do a fairly good job of trying to keep the group on track and smooth over the craziness. But getting along and working with people is very different from liking them. I'll be glad when next wednesday is over - then i'll be free!!
