Though i have been surgically attached to my phone this weekend, checking and re-checking to see whether or not i missed that little beeep that means someone loves me, it's been a good weekend. Sometimes i was happy to see that someone did. Sometimes i saw nothing. I've been strongly inclined to throw my phone against a wall, but have so far resisted the urge.
Last night was a friend's 19th. I was amazed and shocked to see a friend of mine arrive with his friends to see me. I had a really good time. It was suprisingly easy, even factoring in the awkward goodbye. They left. The girls (making an interesting impression, considering the state they were in, lol). He called later. Highlight of the weekend. Plus it was great seeing the girls, it's not my usual group so it's good to see them.
Tonight, i was super bouncy at church. I got to sing, which i love and haven't done in awhile. I was so happy that everyone kept asking me why i was happy - as if it was strange. Afterwards, a bunch of us drove up to Windy Point, to look at the lights. I've not been up there before, just to see the view. It's actually pretty beautiful. I love that i can look out and see the whole town - the city, the airport, the beach... and then look up and see a sky full of stars, that look huge and bright and beautiful. We sat on the wall, my skirt ruffled in the wind, staring out over the view... loved it.
Plus, i caught i lift home in a tiny red convertible, top down, hair flying. Very fun. A modern end to a half hour where i almost forgot that the rest of the world existed.
It was a good weekend.
