Kids Club
Another successful Kids Club over. It was a good week - in total, we got well over 60 kids, nobody got injured, nobody got sent home, we all had mucho funo! After i got better, i was back to business. I cooked, i cleaned, i set up a dozen stalls for a carnivale.
Come thursday afternoon, it was CARNIVAL time! I was super-hypo. I got dunked on the dunking machine, which was a blast (even if it was a leader who'd tipped the bucket over my head!). The kids were having an amazing time - on the games, on the stalls, everywhere you turned there were smiley faces. We had face-paintng and everything. Two red ice-blocks later, i was even more hypo than before. I was bouncing off the walls, had a halo on and had wet, curly hair in my eyes. It was very 'hi-i'm-a-four-year-old' and i loved it! Roz came in, for even more fun. We hired a bungee-run, which led to hours of bouncy fun (and the boys having a blast, pushing me over and seeing how far i bounced. I can still do sommersaults and not kll myself on bouncy castles! There was an unbelievable mess, but the kids and leaders all had a fantastic time. Yay!
Friday we headed off to Greenhills. The bus ride was loooooong and ended perfectly in time for me to not feel sick. As soon as they could, the kiddies scampered off to play. I sat in a tree to watch the moon-bikers for awhile, then it was lunch! (We'd had a late start, due to various administration problems) After lunch i covered the bouncy pillow. Chasee and sommersaults with a bunch of kids is massively more tiring on a pillow then on ground i think. One of the little boys dragged me off for a boat ride before we had to go. Then it was time for the trip home again!
The kids took ages to clear out, which was fine as they were just the cutest things ever. I got hugs good-bye from some of the little ones and then we de-briefed after a few sing-star rounds. Poor Dr.B had blind eyes after the waterslides and i was exhausted (and dreading the dinner i had to go to later). I'd been very good, social, friendly, cheery, whatever all weel long and i'd had enough of it by now. Sleep much needed!
I love kids club!
