Mother Nature?
Well, maybe it's not mother nature. But there's someone (who controls all of the germs in the world) who has decided that they don't like me very much. Maybe they've decided that they can join the ranks of people who take awhile to get to know me before they treat me well. Maybe the force is against me. Maybe i've just got a low immune system :P
Whatever it is, it's got me sick quite often recently. I don't notice so much, but i guess that other people do, seeing as now, when i say 'i'm sick', they respond with 'not again!' in an exasperated tone.
I don't like the tone that they use. I can't help it if i get sick! It's not like i go out there and deliberately coax germs towards me, beckoning them like a shepherd beckons sheep. They just flock to me anyway. I'm a natural germ-shepherd.
I got whooping cough when i was about 13 and had it for almost two years. After that, my lungs were scarred, so i would have coughing fits if i did too much, wouldn't be able to breathe and had a very small lung capacity (sucked for singing!). At 17 i caught glandular fever, which i had for awhile. Along with making me sick, i then got exhausted. Seeing as i couldn't afford to slow down much, i took ages to get past it. Now, i catch everything that goes around (plus, Dr.B and i catch everything off each other, in a vicious cycle) and, after it finally goes away, i'm left exhausted and with a wracking cough (remenants of whooping cough). It's great fun.
Doesn't that sound like an absolute ball? Uh... not. Obviously i don't enjoy it, and don't bring it on myself. For once, it's not my fault.

Have you tried taking Echinacea? I find as soon as I start feeling a bit under the weather if I take Echinacea whatever was threatening doesn't materialise.
Thanks for dropping by my blog and taking part in the Nursery Rhyme quiz - I'll be posting the answers and winners on Friday. :)
