Recapture Your Youth!
Yesterday, it was family-movie-day at church. Parents and kiddies gathered to watch Happy Feet and make pizzas. Wanting to see the movie again (and enjoying spending time with some of the families and their lovely kids), i was all set to go. Angel agreed to accompany me, and PB wanted to accompany her, so it was the three of us.
While i managed to get Angel into the movie, PB sutbbornly refused to see that it was a good film! You see, it's all about forgetting that you're 'too old' to enjoy musical penguins who tap dance. You've just got to decide to enjoy it and see the humour and you WILL. Damn it, you will. But if you sit there, being all sleepy and unappreciative, it just won't work. You really have to feel for the characters and get involved in the show emotionally. It's a fine art, one which i have mastered. Especially seeing as Happy Feet is such a great movie; it's even got an environmental sub-theme. Perfect.
Needless to say, i really enjoyed the movie.
PB's mum is adorable - she gave us all ice-cream in a cone and helped us make mini-pizzas. All the littleuns on my lap added to the love. Granted, i had to race off to babysit before all the fun was ended, nearly severing one of PB's toes in the process, but it was a good afternoon. Gota love recapturing my youth - i think i might do too much of that though... people don't seem to have enough fun these days, or maybe i just like having fun more than someone my age should? Tricky question.
