Night Out
After a loooooooong day at work/bible study/youth group, i wasn't really in any mood to put on a short, sleeveless dress and strappy sandals and hit the town... but, dutiful friend that i am, i did it anyway. Angel proffered a lift, English gave me pizza and PB volunteered the compliments and goodbye kiss, so i was as set as i was ever going to be as i stepped out onto Hindley street and scurred to the architecture firm (where the party was held), in between two strip clubs...
Surprisingly, a few hours at the 18th, with free drinks and catch up (some real, some fake) with all the old crowd was actually good fun. Unfortunately, i didn't get there until late so i missed some of the girls, but still. Good times.
When it got to midnight and we got kicked out, Bri, Ray, Caz and i walked down to the AUBC, where the rowers were having a 'little drop of spring' party. Ray and Caz were a little freaked about walking through Rundle Mall at half midnight and got slightly terrified when cute-whistle-blowing-boy struck up conversation with Bri and i... in a typically random fashion, we took photos on the bridge :) When we got there, Bri and i scored more free drinks, because she knew the people behind the bar, but Ray and Caz bailed for too long, so i met some of Bri's rowing mates and we hung out, dancing, a little longer. I made friends with a random 26-yr-old chemist, who seemed nice.
Round 2am, the party was winding up, so Bri (and her boy), Luce (and her boy) and i (and my boy) headed back to someone's house. Then ensued a very random night where people just paired off, so i got to know the chemist very well... and suddenly it was 5am. Bri and i buzzed for a taxi, split the ride home with the chemist (after waiting ages in the freezing cold with borrowed jumpers for warmth), and hot footed it to bed.
I've got to say that having only 2 hrs sleep is not condusive to my teaching skills being any good...
