Girl Talk

"It's too early to translate girl flip-out into normal conversation"

Another quote from Grey's Anatomy that just made so much sense. This is pretty much what guys have to learn to do if they want to coexist relatively peacefully with a member of the opposite sex. They need to learn how to adjust when a seemingly normal conversation about salt and pepper suddenly turns into a metaphor for a relationship and the pepper just isn't pulling it's weight, letting the salt do all the work... It can be tricky.

The worst thing to do? Be so oblivious as to completely miss the fact that the girl is no longer talking about salt and pepper. Miss that and your peace and quite is as good as shattered. Second mistake? Telling the girl she's not making sense. In her mind, things are clear as crystal, it's just you who's stuck in a fog.

Best thing to do if you're lost? Just pretend that you're not. Nod and smile. Sympathise. Tell her what she wants to hear. Then try and figure out what just went on in your own time. Be prepared. No relationship with a girl is without these flip-outs. The sooner you learn to deal, the better for both of us!
