I'm Shaking My Proverbial Tail
Our final Service of Lessons and Carols (a.k.a the Christmas Concert at St. Peter's Cathedral) was tonight. It was both fantastic and sad - it was great to finally never have to spend an entire day rehersing something that is pretty much exactly the same as it was last year with teachers who are unable to stick to a schedule and, when running early, slow things down so that we run late, followed by a concert in a stuffy cathedral, singing so much your voice hurts. On the other hand, it marks the absolute end of my school life coming up and you know how that freaks me out. Plus, the concert isn't all that bad, really.
More upsides? Ray, Shwabie and i had the first verse of Once in Royal David City and we totally rocked (sorry, i'll be more modest later), which was cool. ChanterElle went rather swimmingly, with my not remembering every single word not being incredibly noticable :) Hooray! Overall, a good night in terms of people telling me how great i am :P and Christmas Carols are always pretty fun to sing.
Shout out to Spencie, best conductor in the known universe, and to Shirley, our top-notch organist. We salute you! Also, to Mr. Photo-dude, whoever you are, sorry about the grinning :P
Why am i shaking my proverbial tail (to quote Alibibble?)? Well, i can play Better Days, which is wicked. Plus, our choir for next year seems to be coming together quite nicely. Moreover, MusicMan isn't going to the US for six months anymore so i won't be totally abandoned by everyone i know, stuck here alone in little old Adelaide :P And i just found out that there's a mini-party saturday night and a proper one tomorrow night, so i can fulfill (hopefully) my quota of seeing the people i like to see :) AND our quiz night is tomorrow, so that should be fun! Remind me to tell you all about our mission trip soon, btw.
Ok, all of the :P and :) -ing that i'm doing has worn me out, so i think it's time to return to writing my chrissy cards and watching Friends, just for something different :P Choir in the am, so i CANNOT stay up too late!!!
