Bloggie Dearest
A Tribute. To the BESTEST BLOG i've ever had :) Hopefully, for those of you who just can't grasp my attachment, this will help you understand a little better.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BLOG
For me, blogging is a way to unload. I can write whatever i want, about whatever i want, whenever i want. Because i seem to end up complaning a fair bit, yelling lots, being opinionated and so on, it's good to be able to do it all without having to force someone to sit still and listen to me. This way, i can say what i like and if people don't want to hear it, then they don't have to. So everyone can be happy! Plus, this way i can get the opinions of everyone (History girlies -- note: lack of bias), not just my friends - surprisingly, it's often been the advice of strangers that's been the most useful. Just a detatched opinion i guess.
BLOG BENEFITS - The Comments!!!
It's not all fun and games, having a blog - you have to keep it up to date, you can't leave it too long without a post, you need to update code and keep on top of all the cool things you can do, plus there's the actual writing of the posts, which can take up a fair bit of time... but the benefits definately outweigh the bad things. For starters, there's the constant outlet for me to spill my guts (most of them) without face-to-face confrontation. Then, there's the stream of people telling me how much they like what i'm writing :) yay! You can never have too many compliments. Even better than the comments from the girls are the comments from all of the people that i don't know - i think it's really cool that people from the other side of the world read what i write and think it's decent enough to deserve a comment. You know, i don't even mind the mean comments - yes, there obviously is a limit, but up to a point, i don't mind the crisicism. Plus, i get to have little comment-conversations with whoever it is, mini-arguments or whatever, which is fun. And so long as they're commenting, good or bad, it means they're still reading it, right? Which is good.
On the topic of the coolness of blog comments and stuff, the other night the coolest thing happened - i was commenting on www.theswamphare.blogspot.com and a few hours later i got an email which invited me to become a contributor to the site!! The guy who runs it and read my comment and seen my blog. After reading it, he decided that it was well written and he liked my 'style and wit' :) So i'm now a contributor on another blog! I think that's pretty cool. Plus, i went back to check it out again and i saw his latest post; it had a link to my site and then it said 'here is a young lady writing out of Australia that I think you should read'. I think that's pretty cool.
I love my blog! And i know that there are at least a few people out there who love it to :D That's good enough for me! Anyway, i'm not writing for other people really, just for myself. And if other people like it, all the better! Hehe, yay for the blog!
Nite!
