Bye-Bye Mamma, Farewell Pappa

Well, it's that time of year again. Mum and Dad are off, jetsetting across the world for a conference that Dad needs to go to. They're hitting up Russia and Italy, and going to the conference in Berlin... lucky ducks! So jealous - just makes me remember how awesome Europe was.

Now, Mum does pretty much everything around here, so she'll be missed. But Dad? We hardly see him anyway. Example? Take the last two weeks. Dad had a week long fishing trip in Darwin (got back on Friday), he was in hospital today, tomorrow he goes to Sydney (gets back Thursday night) and on Friday he and Mum leave for Russia. He's exhausted, i have no idea how he'll make it, but time will tell. Nan's moving in with us, to help ferry my brother around and keep our clothes clean... she tends to stress even more than mum and i (damned genetics, praying i'm as bad as i'm going to get), so it'll be a lonnnnnng three weeks!

Ah well, i'm hardly ever home anyway, and when i am i'm up in my room - so i can just enjoy the extra peace and quiet, stay out of everyone's way and wait until Mum gets home with lots of overseas pressies. Parent free house for three weeks, woo!
